COLLEGE STATION (Real Estate Center) – J. Michael Boyd, CRE, SIOR of Houston was elected chairman of the Real Estate Center Advisory Committee yesterday.

President of Boyd Commercial LLC, Boyd was appointed to the ten-member committee by Gov. Rick Perry in 2006.

Boyd is a member and former national president of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors. He is a member of the Counselors of Real Estate and a trustee of the Boyd Foundation. Boyd is a member of the Texas and Houston Association of Realtors. He received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from Louisiana State University.

The committee provides advice and counsel and approves the annual plan of work and budget for the Center, the nation’s largest publicly funded research center devoted exclusively to real estate. Virtually all funding comes from fees paid by Texas real estate licensees.
